Happy "Thanks-Living"

Holidays are a special time at JNP. In addition to using the typical Thanksgiving symbols (turkeys, pies, etc) as the inspiration for our play, we share important messages about kindness in our conversations with the children.

In Chapel, all 4 classes had an opportunity to practice "Thanks-living:" showing our "Thanks" by being kind to others and sharing what we have. The children took turns giving food by placing it in a cornucopia (also known as the horn of plenty). In return, our Chapel teacher, the beloved Ms Em., shared a little snack bite with each child (a pretzel and/or Goldfish) and exchanged a kind "thank you" with him/her.

Our classrooms continued this message of "Thanks-living" by making their own versions of a family feast. In Preschool 1, the children took turns pouring and mixing a trail mix before sharing the snack amongst themselves. The Preschool 2 class made bread, while the PreK class made butter. Then, the 27 children and 4 teachers from the two classes came together in one classroom to share a snack of bread and butter.

We are thankful to spend every day with these wonderful children, who show us their kind hearts every day!
